WFW Sponsors the 2012 Viral Van Film Festival

On April 24, 2012 Humber College hosted the first ever Viral Van Film Festival!  It was part of a sponsorship arrangement with our Whites Interactive Department.  Humber College’s 3rd Year Directing Class, instructed by Annie Szamosi, used the Whites Interactive Viral Van to shoot their class projects.  A special screening of the final edits was held at Humber College’s North Campus.  Students competed for a chance to win three individual equipment rental grants, each valued at $500.  Congratulations to the winners Sarah Little, Lucas Dabrowski, and Jesse Herzog!

The idea for the festival spawned from earlier conversations between Bruce Dale, Manager of Education & Training, Donna O’Brien-Sokic, Professor of Film & TV Production at Humber College and Lorraine O’Brien, Training & Education Facilitator for the Director’s Guild of Ontario.  Everyone was excited to collaborate on this project because it assisted the young filmmakers in raising the production value of their projects.  Each piece exhibited a strong sense of maturity, was tastefully directed, and successfully evoked emotion from the audience.  William F. White International is proud to support emerging filmmakers through our National Grants Program.  We look forward to working with all of them in the future.
