WFW Chairman & CEO, Paul Bronfman to Receive First-Ever DGC Honourable Life Member Award

The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) has announced that WFW Chairman & CEO, Paul Bronfman will be receiving the first-ever Honourable Life Member Award at this year's DGC Awards being held in Toronto on September 25th. Comedian Dave Foley will host the annual gala at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto as the Guild celebrates the career of acclaimed director Sidney Furie (The Ipcress File, Lady Sings the Blues) and the extraordinary contributions of Don McCutcheon and Paul Bronfman to the DGC and the Canadian film and television industry. Entering its 9th year, the DGC Awards has grown to be one of the most anticipated events of the fall season. Over 450 film and television industry professionals attend the awards-major directors, producers along with some of Canada's best-known actors and actresses. Last year, comedian Shaun Majumder hosted the gala at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, a glamorous venue which makes the perfect home for such a prestigious ceremony. The Directors Guild of Canada is a national labour organization that represents over 3,800 key creative and logistical personnel in the film and television industry covering all areas of direction, design, production and editing. The DGC negotiates and administers collective agreements and lobbies extensively on issues of concern for members including Canadian content conditions, CRTC regulations and ensuring that funding is maintained for Canadian film and television programming.
