As responsible citizens of this planet, the entire William F. White International Inc. (WFW) family is focused on this goal: doing whatever we can do to reduce the environmental impact of our production equipment and our business operations as a whole.
WFW has committed itself to environmental stewardship. While continuing to ensure excellent customer service and quality product, WFW is taking the necessary steps to make certain that it has a minimal environmental impact. With sustainability and the continuing drive to stay on the cutting edge of environmental practice, WFW is taking the lead in making the production equipment rental industry green.
The Whites Goes Green® handbook, A Guide to Reducing Our Environmental Impact, highlights the various initiatives being introduced and implemented at WFW.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS!
Wednesday, February 20, 2008Many initiatives in the ongoing Whites Goes Green™ project are large in scale. Others are faster and easier to put into place, but still have a great impact!
From now on, all outgoing WFW staff e-mails will contain a simple phrase:
Please consider the environment before printing my e-mail
It is our hope that this little thing will make a big difference.
PACKAGE TRUCKS SET A NEW STANDARD
Thursday, November 15, 2007 WFW continues to lead the entertainment industry in becoming a green supplier. The two newest WFW Package Trucks are 2007 Internationals equipped with TIER III Cummins engines. TIER III is the highest standard of emission reduction currently available in North America.
WFW is also committed to bringing the new generators on these trucks, as well as the one on the WFW Camera Car, to TIER III compliancy. This should be accomplished early in 2008, once the exhaust after treatments (scrubbers) are finished development, testing and installation.
Once these generators are successfully upgraded, the process of converting much of the remainder of the WFW fleet of generators across Canada to TIER III compliancy will begin!
GENERATORS GO GREEN
Thursday, May 31, 2007Our first major initiative will be to work towards “going green” with the fleet of Generators. This ongoing process will include:
- Slightly extended service intervals to reduce the frequency of waste/waste filters
- Evaluation/rebuild of all fuel system and critical inlet system components at time of major engine servicing
- Fitting of Engine Crankcase Gas Ventilation Capture (Fleetguard – Enviroguard™ or Racor Crankvent™) devices on generator engines
- Yearly/bi-yearly testing of all vehicle diesel and gasoline engines
- Use of Ultra-Low Sulphur (<15ppm) Content Diesel Fuel
- Retrofitting the GESi™ exhaust after-treatment and particulate filter system (from Global Emissions of Markham, Ontario) to provide state-of-the-art diesel engine scrubbers and gasoline catalytic converters for Non, Tier I and Tier II diesel generator engines already in service
- Inclusion of Cummins Tier III engines, or the equivalent, on all new or retrofit generator engines.
