As responsible citizens of this planet, the entire William F. White International Inc. (WFW) family is focused on this goal: doing whatever we can do to reduce the environmental impact of our production equipment and our business operations as a whole.
WFW has committed itself to environmental stewardship. While continuing to ensure excellent customer service and quality product, WFW is taking the necessary steps to make certain that it has a minimal environmental impact. With sustainability and the continuing drive to stay on the cutting edge of environmental practice, WFW is taking the lead in making the production equipment rental industry green.
The Whites Goes Green® handbook, A Guide to Reducing Our Environmental Impact, highlights the various initiatives being introduced and implemented at WFW. IT'S WASTE REDUCTION WEEK IN CANADA!
Sunday, October 19, 2008Canada’s 8th annual Waste Reduction Week (WRW) is developed and run by a coalition of 13 different recycling councils and sister organizations from across the country. The program, which runs from October 19-25, urges everyone to do their part in by reducing, reusing and recycling in every aspect of their lives – at home, school and work.
The Program focuses on the 3Es of the 3Rs; Education, Engagement and Empowerment. WRW aims to inform and engage Canadians about the environmental and social ramifications of wasteful practices. WRW provides information and ideas to reduce waste in all facets of daily living, creating the solution to the many environmental challenges we face including climate change, water pollution and preservation of natural resources.

RECYCLING GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Wednesday, October 01, 2008ERA (Electronic Recycling Association) is a Vancouver based non-profit organization focusing on the re-use of computer related equipment and other electronics for charities, as well as the handling of equipment for recycling. All donated computer equipment is sorted by volunteers and, depending on its condition, is either donated to a local charity/non-profit organization or handled for recycling.
WFW is proud to be an active participant in this great program. WFW Vancouver’s Jeremy Walsh & Lance Connelly, along with David Maxwell of ERA, are seen in this photo delivering some old WFW computer equipment to ERA!

TAKE PART IN EARTH HOUR!
Saturday, March 01, 2008 Created to take a stand against the greatest threat our planet has ever faced, Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming.
This simple act has captured the hearts and minds of people all over the world. As a result, at 8pm March 29, 2008 millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities, including Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Melbourne, Brisbane and Tel Aviv will unite and switch off for Earth Hour.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS!
Wednesday, February 20, 2008Many initiatives in the ongoing Whites Goes Green™ project are large in scale. Others are faster and easier to put into place, but still have a great impact!
From now on, all outgoing WFW staff e-mails will contain a simple phrase:
Please consider the environment before printing my e-mail
It is our hope that this little thing will make a big difference.
